Plein Air Views of Washington 2026
I will be participating in the annual Plein Air Views of Washington exhibition at Magnuson Park Gallery in Seattle. This is a group show of plein air paintings by artists from around Washington state.
There will be an opening reception on Thursday, May 28th from 5pm - 8pm. The show will then be on display until Saturday, July 18th. Magnuson Park Gallery’s regular hours are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm.
On Saturday, June 6th from 12pm - 4pm Building 30 West (the building where the gallery is located) will have an open art studio event where all of the art studios in the building will be available for the public to tour and enjoy in addition to the gallery. If you want to see the show during a lively event alongside a bunch more art, you should go on June 6th!
This is the second time I have had the opportunity to be a part of this show (the last time was in 2023) and I highly recommend you come visit to see it in person. You’ll be able to see the beauty of Washington state through the eyes of a community of local artists. Plus, you can spend some time in the park which has a variety of outdoor activities and events to enjoy.
I believe plein air paintings are uniquely important in our world right now because they represent something personal to the human experience. I make these paintings completely onsite while studying the view I am looking at with my own human eyes, as imperfect as they may be. There is no camera lens or computer involved in this process, except to document my efforts. In an era where technology is increasingly distracting us from spending time with nature and each other, these paintings serve as a reminder to simply enjoy the view that’s right in front of you.

Plein Air Views of Washington 2023
A painting of mine will be featured in a group show of plein air artwork from around Washington State at SPACE Art Gallery in Magnuson Park! The show is called Plein Air Views of Washington.
The art will be on display May 11th - June 17th. The gallery is open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm. If the gallery entrance is locked when you arrive, just call the phone number on the door and someone will let you in.
